Torrey Pines, Westview Take Triton Spring Titles
Torrey Pines A finished a perfect 10-0 in the “competitive” division of the Triton Spring Tournament to solidify their spot as the Southern California team to beat. They have won the last four local tournaments with a combined record of 42-3. University (once again failing to play their three best players at the same time) finished second, with their only two losses to Torrey Pines, and Rancho Bernardo finished third with their four losses all to Torrey Pines and University.
In the “regular” division, Westview finished 9-1 to take first place. Irvine and Torrey Pines C emerged from a muddle in the middle of the division to tie for second place.
Full stats for the competitive division, and initial round-robin stats for the regular division, can be found here. The power disparity is explained by the competitive division using the Prison Bowl set, which was not power-marked, while the regular division used the power-marked HSAPQ Set 17.
