The 2010 Fall Novice Tournament set is available for use in all areas of the country, including Southern California. The Fall Novice Tournament was created in 2009 as a way to introduce new teams and new players to ACF-style quizbowl while using a limited answer space, ensuring that even the newest teams should be able to answer some questions.
The Fall Novice Tournament requires no fee to use the question set. Instead, the tournament organizers require every potential host to submit a bid detailing their expected pricing structure, eligibility restrictions (to ensure the event is for newer and less skilled players), and field size. Arcadia High School used the 2009 Fall Novice Tournament set to run ASCII One; however, any school can submit a bid regardless of previous experience running the Fall Novice Tournament or any other tournament.
